Made for minds that wander.
Hi, I’m Amber — the human behind Atypically Made.
This started with a love of making things, finding things, and getting way too excited about the kinds of little objects that make your brain immediately go, “Oooh. I need to touch that.”
Atypically Made is full of colorful, tactile, fun, wonderfully distracting things. Some are 3D printed by me. Some are finds I loved enough to bring along for the ride. Some are useful. Some are sensory. Some are just ridiculously cute.
And sometimes that is the entire point.
I wanted this shop to feel like wandering through a really good vendor table: there’s always something to pick up, fiddle with, inspect, laugh at, or unexpectedly fall in love with.
There’s a definite neurodivergent heartbeat underneath Atypically Made, but this isn’t a store about fitting people into a category. It’s about the opposite.
Your brain does not have to justify why something makes it happy.
Why “Atypically Made”?
Because typical was never really the assignment.
The name fits the things I make, the things I choose, and the people I hope feel at home here: curious people, colorful people, sensory people, collectors, wanderers, fidgeters, gift-givers, and anyone whose brain occasionally sees something and immediately decides:
That. I want that.
Atypically Made is based in Auburn, New York, and you’ll find me both online and popping up at local markets and vendor events.
Follow your curiosity. We did.
